Brain and spine problems may be a thing of the past according to Elon Musk. He says that most of us will encounter some form of brain or spine problem in our lifetime.
Issues like memory loss, hearing loss, blindness, paralysis, depression, these are just a few of the issues that the Neuralink system is intended to be used for.
The reason for this approach is that the brain is an electrical organ.
Neuralink intends to solve many problems that humans experience. Elon Musk says that most people will some form of loss that Neuralink can fix these with this approach.
How does Neuralink Work
Neuralink works by stimulating neurons in the brain. Since the brains areas have been mapped long ago the functional areas are already known. Depending on the area that needs help electrodes are implanted in those areas and then can be stimulated by the system.
The electrodes are implanted by a specially designed robot that has the ability to be very precise inserting the electrodes.
Elon says that they are looking for individuals that want to work on this program. They are looking for engineers, and electronic specialist and other disciplines to work with his team.
He says that eventually there will no doubt be around ten thousand people working there some day.
This is real ground breaking stuff!
There’s a great need for solving these medical issues which Neuralink intends to solve in the near future. Most of us know someone that can benefit from this technology.
The future can truly be brighter if Elon Musk can have his way.
