How Many Aircraft A& P Mechanics Do We Need?

In this article I would like to open the discussion of the possibility that the recent airplane accidents and mishaps may be a biproduct of the fact that there just aren’t enough Trained Certified A& P mechanics.

These are the people that are certified to work on aircraft. The question is, do we have currently enough of them? And are we planning for the future needs to produce these highly qualified individuals to do the work required on airplanes?

In recent months we have seen an increase in Airplane mishaps. I wrote this article because I believe that the cause just might be the lack of qualified A & P mechanics. They are known as Airframe & Power Plant Mechanics.

It has been my experience that the companies that I worked for did not see the value in sending their employees to get training. They say it doesn’t help their ROI or Return On Investment.

I think they really should take a longer term view of what the return on having well trained mechanics, and how much they actually contribute to the products being produced.

There are approximately 204,000 airplanes in the United States today.  If you need at least 4 mechanics per larger aircraft, and as some aircraft are smaller, so they may get by with fewer, let us say two mechanics for the smaller aircraft. The actual distribution is determined by the aircraft maintenance depots, and those numbers I think need to be tracked.

So what are the numbers?

So just to maintain the aircraft already in service it should take approximately 824,000 or eight hundred twenty four thousand mechanics to properly maintain the aircraft in service today. 

The current data says there are approximately 306,000 aircraft mechanics world wide. With 204 thousand of those in the U.S.  and  these numbers do not include those retiring in the near future.

It’s not only the manufactures of these airplanes that need to address this issue but also General Aviation needs to as well, in case you don’t know, General Aviation just are the smaller type of airplanes.

Should the Manufactures be Limited as to how many planes relative to the amount of available mechanics there are?

If manufacturers have the ability to produce as many aircraft as they possibly can, without regards as to weather there are enough mechanics to properly maintain those airplanes then we have a problem.

So this may tell the story as to why we are having many problems with the airplanes flying today, and how it may get worst if nothing is done to fix this.

The outcomes for 100% successful flights is not just predicated on having qualified pilots for these airplanes, what maybe even more important is on the availability of fully trained qualified Aircraft Mechanics. 

Although there may be some inaccuracy in my numbers, the thesis still stands that we need to be training aircraft mechanics as soon as possible.

Have We Lost Our Survival Instincts?

Today is Fourth of July here in the States, and I am at a party and hearing people sing you know all of those patriotic songs. And it occurred to me that few of these people ever served our country. These songs speak of courage and strength, and then I think of how fast they all capitulated, and acquiesced to Mandates the masks, the shots, and all so as to be a part of the tribe.

No one stopped to considered that they might be in danger, as they lined up to take an experimental concoction of which they were never even given the ingredients as to what was in them, or what the side effects might be.

And the doctors that is whole other issue. Because very few doctors even bothered to research what was in these shots, and what the possible future side-effects might be to the health of their patients. These were supposed to be educated doctors who took the Hippocratic oath to do no harm. And how can they be certain that they are in keeping with their oaths if they didn’t do the research before administering these things.

The Story of the Pig Pen

Let me explain how animals in the wild have better survival instincts than what modern humans have been displaying in recent days. There is a video of someone who has created a Pen out in the wild to catch these wild pigs. So they built this pen out of metal Fencing and installed an electric gate.

In the Pen they puts some food and the watched by camera how the pigs interacted with the pen. The pigs would at first come up to the structure with depredation being cautious not to enter, but soon what look to be the younger of the pigs would enter the structure to get the food.

At the same time there what look to be older pigs which you could tell by their size, much larger and fatter. Now the Older larger pigs would get close to the enclosure and smell it and then back away each time staying outside of the pen. After a while the Trappers would hit a button that worked electronically to close the pen with a loud slamming for the gate the pen was closed and the pigs that had entered were trapped inside.

When this was done the pigs inside became very nervous and began to thrash about inside the pen. And the older fatter pigs that remained outside the pen took off running away.

Can Modern Societies Survive?

How can this society survive when the people have no real character and more why should it survive? Human beings that have lost their most important survival instincts. Were having survival skills what served humanity to get this far in the first place. I really don’t know how much longer we can last if we do not get our survival skills back.

Some elites have been heard to call the average person useless eaters, and just to be clear that is not my belief. I think I now understand how all of this came about.

In the West we have enjoyed an unpresented period of growth and prosperity, with that has come a sense of entitlement. Looking at this I can see how we became to trust all of our Institutions, our Education, News Media, Political Parties, Institutions of Justice and so on…

Today very few of us ever stop to consider that danger may lye in trusting these Institutional Systems to much, that in fact they may have their own agendas. We don’t even stop to think that these Institutions may just being telling us the public what ever serves their own purposes.

It is my contention is that this trap was set long ago, as society gave up much of their critical thinking, excepting modern life to be safe and effective as we are told. We just let our guard down, and outright refused to consider that all may not be that simple. Survival instincts are important to have if human kind is to survive long into the future, and we should never forget that!

In a recent watched a video about the continent of Africa, it was discussed how Africa is full of material assets which the rest of the world has coveted for hundreds of years.

In this video the lady asked the question, why is it that one of our dollars is worth five thousand of African dollars when Africa has all of the resources. Definitely something to ponder isn’t it? Surely we don’t think that it can be right to exploit the whole continent of Africa just so a few in the western countries can be rich, at the expense of millions of Africans.

Just Some of Their Assets

Africa as you may or not know has most of the world’s diamonds. And you may think that diamonds are only used in jewelry, but that’s not all that diamonds are used for, many are used in cutting tools.

Africa also has much of the world Gold as well, there are many active gold mines there. Africa also has many more metals mines, and these metals are used in thousands of product around the world.

Surely This Can’t Last Forever

Surely no one in their right mind can believe that this can continue for ever. Natural law has a way of evening things out sooner or later.

Surely it must be time to reevaluate the situation and pay the Africans in Africa the correct value for the assets that are being extracted from their continent. This may require that items which are made from these assets will need to be more expensive, but that should be considered to be price to pay in a world that respects all of the people.
