Have the Airlines Done Enough to Keep You Safe in these Pandemic Times?

In case you’re not aware, airline travel has gone down by as much as 65% since the release of Covid-19 on the planet.

In this conspiracy theory we will take a look at air travel, and what has been done to hopefully improve your chances of arriving at your destination uncontaminated with the Covid-19 Virus.

Airline Travel a Huge part of the Economy

As we all know by now or should now is that the airline industry has been deeply affected by the pandemic. What some of you may not be aware of is that the airlines employ some 750 thousand employees directly and support 10 million jobs in associated industries.

So you can see this is no small matter, and the sooner this industry can get back to normal the better for the economy that will be.

Why People say they won’t fly

Healthcare professionals are saying that the risk of contracting Corona Virus while flying is lower than what most people think it is.

They say that your actually more at risk as you move about the airport or while sitting in a restaurant.

The airline say that they are taking measures to reduce the chances of travelers contracting the virus. Some of the measures in place range from mask wearing even while sitting in your seat, to temperature checks before being allowed to board the aircraft.

While they seem to be making an effort, some say that there is still more that can be done.

Aircraft Filtration Systems

If you don’t work on airplanes then one thing you may not be aware of is that airplanes actually have a pretty good air circulation system on board. Boeing the number one airplane manufacture says that their air filtration system includes HEPA Cabin Air Filtration. They call there’s Innovation Clean Tech.

They say that their HEPA Air Filtration System is at the same level as those used in hospitals and can capture 99% of viruses, and bacteria.

This would seem to be one very important area, they say that air in the cabin is actually exchanged every two to three minutes. However in a closer look The World Health Organization say that 50% of the recycled air is blended with 50% fresh air from outside the aircraft.

What Flight Attendants Say’

Some flight attendants say that air filtration is not enough, because they say it doesn’t protect you when you move about the aircraft.

More study still needs to be done concerning this issue.
